Pollen--ugh!
Well--Emy, Luke and myself--we all have the pollen blues or either a cold. All I have done for three days is wipe noses (mine included). I want to think it is pollen but am leaning toward thinking it is a bad cold!! So, we sit here underneath our pine trees and inhale all that pollen on these gorgeous days that we CAN'T even spend inside--especially when I have two children who LOVE the outdoors!! We take long walks on these days and they love to swing and play in the dirt. They like to chalk up my carport also. . Emy loves to go to Papa's where she can ride her bike on a paved driveway. Did I mention our rock collection grows daily??
Luke has had a miserable day, his breathing has been pretty rough at times. A trip to the doctor for nothing--they told me to give him breathing treatments (like I used to do for Emy--she now has a big girl inhaler). Might I add that Luke runs from anything that sounds loud or different (for example, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, air compressor, nebulizer for breathing treatments, etc). Sooooo, I waited until he fell asleep, being brilliant as I sometimes am, and did the breathing treatment and he is sleeping soooo good. Emy is asleep right now in Darrell's chair, Luke in his crib, Darrell in our room and of course I am up, unable to sleep once again. BUT, there is hope--I yawned a minute ago and can feel myself leaning toward sleepiness--Yay me!
Emy starts soccer on Saturday and we are all very excited about that!! We are prepared--shin guards, check! (they are so small--and so incredibly cute). .thank you for your assistance Uncle Greg and Aunt Angie Pangie!! Can't wait to post those soccer pics!! Hillcrest park at 9:30am if anyone is interested in seeing her debut on the soccer field! She will be the one in PINK! Didn't ya know? Pink is the IN color at our house!!
See y'all later, goodnight & sweet dreams to all!!

More doctors for Luke!
Well, bless his heart--poor little Luke--he doesn't like them but we had to go to two more doctors appts yesterday. We went to orthopedics and then to physical therapy. He was molded for orthotics for both feet. Luke is completely flat-footed and they want to create an arch in his feet. He also walks on the insides of his feet (where the arches should be). These orthotics will be short boot-like braces that will fit inside of his shoes and that he will wear daily. (yeah, right--I know--he is a stubborn box so we will see--we are gonna try anyway!!)
SO---this week we will be picking up his glasses and in 3 weeks we will get his foot braces. I think he may be able to keep up with Emy after all this. . . she better watch out!!
We do keep getting the same remarks from all of these doctors. "Luke is doing GREAT and he got excellent care in India!! He is very HEALTHY!!" Music to a mama's ears. .
EMY NOTE: We were sitting in the in the waiting area and Emy was drinking Pepsi. Well, she burped the biggest burp I have ever heard--and then says in the sweetest, most Princess like voice "excuse me". Everyone laughed!!
And then, while in with PT, during discussion about Luke's foot molds/braces, Emy says "I have a question!". The PT lady says "What would you like to know Emy?". Emy says "Do you like my hair?" (she had sparkle ribbons in it). The lady was so nice--she said "your hair is beautiful".
HA! My girl strikes again! These two kids are my sunshine, let me tell ya! Even going to the doctor is FUN! (well, almost!)
See ya!

Something Emy said . . .
Thought I would mention this funny thing Emy said a while back and I forgot to tell you guys--she says "if we didn't have this eating machine (meaning Luke) we might could get some sleep around here!" Keep in mind that he sleeps really well now (usually 10 hours a night) but in the beginning he was up and down ALOT!! That lasted only a couple of weeks so we are truly blessed with two good sleeping children!! Praise the Lord!!
She can be so funny sometimes--just a thought I wanted to share.
By the way, guess what??? We are at the BEACH!! Yahoo!! We drove down last night and Luke slept all the way here--Emy slept half way. Darrell and I actually had an adult conversation--the first one in HOW LONG? And guess what?? we didn't say much--the peace and quiet was too good not to enjoy it!! Ha!!
This morning I heard Luke "Mama Mama". Darrell (bless his heart) took him outside so I SLEPT IN!! EMY AND I SLEPT UNTIL 8:00AM!!!!!! I feel so much better--I got lots of sleep and rest so we are going to the ocean to build sand castles and look for shells--so later y'all...
Pictures will come later!!!!

Eye Doctor & Luke
Hey everyone!
We went for Luke's dreaded eye appointment. Darrell & I had to put drops in his eyes 3 times before this visit--boy was that FUN! Anyhoo--we got there and Luke did GREAT! He just sat in my lap like a good boy and looked through the doctor's lenses one by one as was shown to him. He really liked the ones that he could see well through!!
He was also fitted for glasses which we will receive in about 1 week. Surprisingly, he let me try on about 5 pair before we settled on some very small oval brown frames that wrap in an almost circle around his ears. . he wore them a minute and then no more. I really think he will enjoy his glasses once the prescription is in them.
Dr. B said that Luke was extremely near sighted and that the optic nerve in the left eye was thin--so be praying that this will improve over time. I have to research it a little bit and the nurse said to call her back for questions (she is a friend of mine--Cassidy (her daughter) & Emy went to preschool together for over a year). Thanks Tennille!! So I will sit down and call her sometime tomorrow (probably during Luke's nap time) and discuss that issue further.
Luke did great and I will soon post pictures of him with his new glasses on!! We are all looking forward to him being able to see better--bless his heart--he stumbles alot. But like I said before it doesn't get him down, he keeps on truckin!!
Later taters,
Cindy

Emy--Kindergarten already?
Can ya'll believe she is going to school already? She dressed herself for the occasion of course. She is sporting around in a lime green mermaid shirt, pink flowery skirt, and her favorite golden sandals. . . what a sweetie pie!! So when August rolls around, I will be a mess and she will be VERY HAPPY. . . she looks forward to school. . She had a great time today making a paper duck and a Froot Loop necklace! (she's not wearing the necklace--she ate it)
