Yay--a brand new dirt pile....

Thanks Alan for bringing us some dirt!!
The kids LOVED getting to sit in his truck--Luke is checking out the mirror..
Emy said "me too"
WOW--Emy made herself a slide in the dirt.
Luke wasn't sure about the dirst to start with.
But he got into it--
With help from "Sisser"
Luke doesn't like his hands and feet to feel dirty--ha.
Emy doesn't mind grit.
Ain't they cute?
They had fun, fun, fun
See, I told you they "got into it"--literally.
Luke vacuuming the floors--he's not scared of the vacuum anymore--YAY Luke!
Please remember Luke, Darrell, and me in prayer. Luke has a cold, Darrell has a sore throat and his ears hurt and I have had chronic sinus pressure/pain for a solid month. I don't know if I have TMJ problems, or if my sinus cyst is causing the pressure, if my back is out of whack, or if I need glasses. blah, blah, blah (shall I go on???). So it is a trip to the eye doctor, the chiropractor, maybe another ENT physician (the first trip to ENT was a complete HOOT) and I have a dental check up soon. . . I'm so thankful to God that he has allowed me to keep a job with health insurance----Luke has another eye appt next week and he goes back to UNC for PT, OT, orthopedic and neurology visits in December and January....busy busy busy...
Pray for Emy because she has to live with us all. . poor baby girl...
Thanks to all of our faithful blog readers!! We love you, each and every one of you.

Emy said....

This morning she was playing with my new cell phone and she says "Mama, why didn't Daddy buy me a cell phone like yours?"
I said "Because you have a pink cell phone that you love".
Emy said "Daddy is not the bomb anymore!"
HA!

Three Guesses!

Three guesses for you guys--where are we at?

It is far East==salt air smells great down here==waves are continuous........

WE LOVE the BEACH--especially at Topsail Sound RV Park!!--check it out on my favorite sites list to the right!!

We came down LATE last night and will be here for a couple of nights. We were so excited to be able to see everyone again--if you remember--due to financial issues, we had to haul the camper home and we brought it back (just for a weekend)--sadly, just for the weekend. However, there are two more stages that are going to be built out here--phase 1 and 2 are finished--phase 3 and 4 are coming. I have already picked out my "new" site for phase 3 so hopefully we will be financilly able to bring the camper back down and set it up full time again very soon...it was underpinned and we had a very large deck. What we would really like is one of those beautiful park models--we can dream, right???

So today, we went swimming and golf carting which Luke calls "golfart" which is very funny!! We also took a very long walk and saw lots of old friends. We saw Edna, Dean, Angela, Mike, Debbie, Carolyn. We went to see Sonya at her house--she was having a garage sale and we "got" rid of some of her stuff for her (now we have her stuff going back to Carthage with us)--thanks Sonya!! We saw David, Janet and their doggies, Harley and Heidi ( they are cuties ).

Emy saw some of her old friends, Riley, Clay and Dianne. She met Victoria once before and again got reacquainted with her today. We really had a good time at the pig pickin today!

Y'all we really miss this place and I can see it again in my distant future....

More to come later (with pictures).

Beachin it,
Cindy

Luke is off to Nanny's alone this morning. Please everyone pray for my babies today--it's new and different for both of them this morning--and a small prayer for their mommy wouldn't hurt either....thanks a bunch!
Will post a picture of Emy w/ her teachers this evening. . . to be continued....

More of this and that

Emy on "meet my teacher night"
My Papa (grandpa)
Emy & Luke from behind watching monster trucks--Luke's FAVORITE TV show of all time! It's really the only thing he will stop to watch...

My Sweet Emy

This is Emy's favorite page in her scrap book and she wanted me to share it with y'all.
I wrote this letter to her while we were in the "waiting" phase, May 2003.
To all the families waiting right now--I KNOW how you feel and believe me--these kiddos are worth every tear, prayer and piece of paperwork that comes your way!!
Here's hoping that your wait will not be long!!
HINT: DOUBLE CLICK ON THE BELOW IMAGE AND YOU CAN INCREASE THE SIZE!!

This and That

A neighbor's doggie came to visit..
She's talking to . . . . . herself! Yes, she actually starts off this conversation with "what are you doing?" silly girl.
Luke--first thing in the morning--he is my morning sunshine.
This is Emy first thing in the morning--she is cloudy for about an hour and then she's my sunshine too!!
This is the video I took of Emy "talking" to herself.
Y'all, she is a TRIP--so FUNNY!!
AND I LOVE EVERY MINUTE!!!

Kristi W--Please read!!

Hey Kristi!
I am just posting this b/c your email does not like me..at least I hope it's just your email.
Luke has crossed eyes and his left eye is "lazy". He is severely nearsighted!
So, you can already see that he doesn't mind his glasses--thank the Lord because that would be s struggle if he didn't... We are patching his right eye, making him use his left eye which is the weaker of the two! We patch him for 6 hours a day, 6 days a week (sometimes I am slack on Saturday) but his "Nanny" at daycare is great and she helps me tremendously!
All of this patching is working wonders--he is now switching from using right eye to left at times and the eye doctor (thanks Tennille & Sarah!!--we love y'all!!) and his staff says this is a really GOOD thing he is doing. He seems to try to use his left eye (weak one) and then his right one will kick in and then he tries his left eye again--you can see him fight this little battle a little bit each day!! It's good to see and kind of humorous too (at times)--kind of like right, no left, no right, no left--and so on! The right eye ALWAYS wins in the end but at least the left one is making an effort now--it never did before we started the patching process.
I think that after we get to a certain point with the patching and strengthening the left eye, the eye doctor will have Luke read a chart (in English-yay Luke!!) and then when they can get a certain measurement, then we will know if we are looking at surgery in his future..the good news is this...
you have until the age of 9 before the muscles in the eyes mature!! So, we have a pretty large window of opportunity to do some major work between now and then.
I am so impressed with his improvement--I am a very proud mommy! He is such a trooper to wear his patch for so long every day!! It's really amazing how fast he has started using that weak left eye!
Shaili is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see her join your family!!
I love your blog!!
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask! I love to talk about my babies!!

Enjoy these pictures.

My sweeties
My soon to be heartbreaker
Yep, those are onions (or unguns as Luke calls them)
This is his "I don't want to stop even if you say no look"
Emy's boo-boos after falling on the road where we were walking.
Poor baby.

Watching TV--her favorite thing to do--I can tell we are going to have to limit this more in the near future--especially with school starting in another 11 days!
She needed to make a silly hat for the pool party she went to today (she improvised with tights and undies) that's my SILLY girl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH B!!

WE LOVE YOU!
