Hello,
We are the Darrell & Cindy from NC. We are blessed beyond words. We started our first India adoption in early 2001. We had lots of bumps and bruises along the way. Emy Durba came home in January 2004. She was almost 14 months old at that time. She weighed 14 pounds and was very petite. She was like an infant to us. Boy, did she grow fast!!!
She is 5 years old now and weighs a whopping 34 pounds. She now stands 40 inches tall. She is very excited about starting Kindergarten this Fall. She loves church, singing, cheerleading, dancing, loves to play outside, and squeals the loudest squeal we have ever heard. . . She loves loud music, loud movies and even loud shoes. I don't think that is possible for my Emy to slow down at all. She is full of life and love.
We started our 2nd adoption process in March/April 2007. Luke Swarnadip is 3 years old now (he was 2 when we started this process). He weighs in at 23 pounds and stands at about 31 inches tall. From his videos, he looks to be strong-willed, but happy. Another strong-willed child, whew, can I handle it? Oh yeah, bring it on! We can't wait to see him in person and love him up. My husband will be traveling to India in the next few weeks, so we are very happy. Luke should be home early February.
We also have two gorgeous nephews, Josh (11) who came home at 5 months old and Cristian (7) who came home at 10 months old. My sister and brother-in-law adopted both of these handsome fellows from Guatemala. They sure are something. . .
and just think, international adoption is adding another member to this family very soon. God is GOOD!
To be continued,
Cindy
